Regional Solidarity & Learning Networks
Based on extensive experience training congregations and organizations and the learning gained in doing so, we are currently taking the initiative to build regional/local networks based on institutions operating in solidarity to achieve the power of localized collaborative learning and action.
We are now actively beginning with two regional networks in North Carolina: Asheville and Charlotte.
AVL
Our home community of the greater Asheville region has demonstrated remarkable resilience and institutional cooperation in the recovery from the devastation of Hurricane Helene. We are beginning to develop a collective of congregations and institutions that seek to build collective power to continue the work of fashioning greater justice and mutual flourishing in the region.
CLT
The “Queen City” of Charlotte is one of the Southeast’s fastest growing cities. This expanding metropolitan area, however, exhibits some of the least amount of class mobility when compared to other similar U.S. cities. Hence, it experiences massive and deeply entrenched disparities.
In vital partnership with Union Presbyterian Seminary and several anchor congregations, we are beginning to weave a network of congregations to challenge the structure of inequity in the city and establish a guild for mutual flourishing.
We are also proud to join other organizations and congregations in collaboration with the Industrial Areas Foundation to found a broad-based community organizing collective in the city.
